Today was the opening of a new haberdashery in Maltby. I've been excited since I found out there would be one opening. We already have one which also sells yarn but its quite expensive, full of designer fabric which I don't really want to use for the boys clothes and the staff aren't the friendliest.
I went straight down to see the new shop after I'd dropped the eldest child at school and I managed to be the first customer! I wasn't disappointed. They had a good range of fabric in stock and informed me more would be arriving soon. The price of their fabric is very reasonable which makes me super happy. They also stock all sorts of haberdashery and patterns. The staff are all really friendly and we had a little chat before I decided what I was going to buy. I have lot's of ideas constantly whizzing around my head but I think my husband might complain if I bought supplies for everything I ever wanted to do!
I came home with 2m of blue gingham to make my toddler a pair of dungarees, some velcro for when I make the boys superhero capes and a dress pattern for me. I was super tempted to buy the fabric for the dress but resisted and decided to go back at a later date. I was happy to learn that the shop have a reward scheme of buy 4 patterns get one free.
So a very happy experience from me. It's going to be so useful (if a little dangerous to the pocket) to have reasonably priced fabric on my doorstep. From looking at the local group on Facebook there's quite a few more happy people too. Long may Fabric 2 Fashion be part of the local high street.
